Fitness

Fitness is one of the most important parts of living life to the fullest. Our bodies were not designed to sit still. When not in use our bodies atrophy and our muscles and bones deteriorate to the point where they die. We become lethargic and depressed and start to think the world is against us when in reality we’re only hating ourselves. Being physically fit not only helps your body but mental acuity, emotional wellbeing, and self awareness. Fitness gives you more energy and actually helps you be happier. The more energy you have throughout the day the better your mood is, the better you treat others, and the better your life becomes overall.

You don’t have to be a gym rat to be fit but you do have to do something. Sitting in front of a computer or TV might feed your mind but it does little for your body. Get motivated and start moving, find something that you like and do it. If you don’t like exercise don’t make an excuse! Learn to like it. The point is to start doing something. You make your own excuses and you accept them so if you want to do it you will. I joined CrossFit and drank the Kool-Aid because it provides me with an atmosphere where I compete against myself and have the support of others to do it. That is my choice and I am enjoying every minute of it because I want to.

Being fit also means eating in a healthy way. Eat and drink whatever you please… do it in moderation. If you want a burger, fries and a shake, HAVE AT IT! Be responsible and have the small portions and have it maybe once a month. You like to drink beer and wine? DO IT! Have one or two drinks and leave it at that. Don’t binge and don’t over indulge, you’ll find that you have more energy to do things when your body’s not busy trying to digest and filter whatever garbage you put into it. Once you take responsibility for yourself and start eating in moderation try to eat what’s good for you. If you hate veggies then take supplements. There’s a wealth of scientific knowledge out there about what our bodies need to be healthy. If you’re interested AdvoCare provides these for you (shameless plug). I don’t like diets and I don’t eat the best things… by my choice.  However, because I don’t always make the best food choice I take supplements. My choice is to eat how I like to eat and take the supplements my body needs to be fit. Make your choice and not an excuse to not do anything.

Physical fitness is not only one of the most important keys to a healthy body, it is the basis of dynamic and creative intellectual activity.
