Responsibility

Take responsibility of yourself. Own everything that happens to you and know that no matter what happens in your life you have the choice to be responsible for it. Don’t give in to blaming others or to blaming the “circumstances”. You and only you control how things affect you, in other words how you react to them. You might say that you have no control over the weather or terrorist attacks… but, you do have control over how they affect you and those around you. You can help people in need when the worst happens, you become a helping hand and not one of the victims. You can help yourself and your family and keep moving. You’ll find yourself stronger than before and help others see the possibilities within themselves through your strength and attitude. Adversity is a part of life and the learning process. Failure stops being failure when you learn from it. But, that’s your choice if you decide to take responsibility of yourself and not continue to be a victim.

Your perfection doesn’t depend on others it depends on you, what you do with your choices and how you react to the world around you. There are so many great stories of people coming out of the most dire situations, becoming successful, and overcoming adversity not because someone did it for them but because they decided they could do it and willed themselves to do it.

Change your mindset and take responsibility of yourself. Make the conscious choice that you are in charge. Once you take off the blinders of “fate” you will see the world with different eyes. You will see it as an all you can eat buffet where you never get full and all it costs is you being responsible of yourself.

The only way to achieve this responsibility is by constant practice. Start by looking at what affects you, positively and negatively, do not try to change it or control it, try to analyze it. Look at these things, think about them, learn from them. Examine why they affect you the way they do, be brutally honest with yourself (responsibility doesn’t work if you can’t be honest with yourself). Once you can analyze these things you can decide what the best way to take responsibility for them is. Make choices that fit your world view and advance you towards your goals. Don’t do it for anyone else but yourself, be selfish in this. However, be careful not to build yourself at others expense. This is about your responsibility and your choices. Do not get discouraged you only have yourself to answer to.

One’s philosophy is not best expressed in words; it is expressed in the choices one makes… and the choices we make are ultimately our responsibility.
